This web site contains a lot of information that is publicly available. This does not mean that you can use the data freely. We have a simple licensing policy outlined below. The vast majority of the users are free to use the data. For other users, we simple want to know what you are doing, ensure that you are not misrepresenting the data and it gives us an opportunity to provide you with the data in a more efficient format.

By using the Line Speed Meter results you agree to the following:

1. Consumer User. A consumer user is any user or business who has an Internet connection or is planning on getting one. You are interested in analysing your own data or any other data that we provide in order to choose the best Internet connection, do personal research on Internet plans or to understand the nature of Internet connectivity. Consumer users can analyse all data for free and hyperlink to any part of our web site.

2. Communications Company. A communications company is any entity whose service we are measuring. You may be using the data to provide technical comparisons, as the basis for financial gain or as a mechanism to monitor your own network. You may only analyse, aggregate, report on, study, review or reproduce the data once you have obtained a license from tcpIQ. The cost of the license depends on the number of users that you have and the amount of data that you want to analyse. For the majority of ISPs it is a token amount of money.

3. Research Organisation. A research organisation is any company, university or organisation that uses the data in research, reports, data gathering, data aggregation, data reselling, marketing or data analysis. You may only use the data once you have obtained a license from tcpIQ.

4. Government Organisation. Any government organisation may use the data once you have obtained a license from tcpIQ.

5. Publisher. Any magazine, author, publisher, re-publisher, commercial web site or newspaper needs to obtains license from tcpIQ (this type of license is generally free).

License

Depending on your requirements the License may be free (especially for universities). We are simply interested in knowing who you are, how you are using the data and whether there is a way to help you better. The license may entitle you to receive our entire database either offline on a DVD or online using OLAP Cubes or raw access to the underlying tables.
